Oyster spacers collected Sustainable Coastlines Hawai‘i, jute twine, wire
Disembodied spirits, a.k.a. ghosts; haunting perturbations of the mind that are often harbingers of unpleasant or dreadful events.
As I work with these materials that wash up on our shores, I imagine where they came from, whose hands they have passed through, and how many ecosystems they have haunted on their way from origin. I am interested in these objects formally and find an unsettling beauty in them. This installation is an immersion into a floating entanglement of my imagination.
