FLOWER FAN by Solomon Enos
March 1 - 31, 2018
Solomon Enos doesn't paint flowers. Solomon is a Flower Fan.
While traveling in late 2017, as a grant recipient of the Painters and Sculptors Program by the Joan Mitchell Foundation, Solomon visited New York City's museums and found himself absorbed by paintings of vases with flowers. He came home and created these works on the "surrealism of nature"; his favorite description for flowers.
Aupuni Space is pleased to announce an exhibition of new work by Solomon Enos, from March 15 - March 31, 2018, the second at our new space in Kaka‘ako. The exhibition features 8 new oil paintings, including 2 large-scale canvases. Enos’ exhibition at Aupuni Space precedes a major new permanent installation of his work as part of the CONTACT ZONE exhibition, at Chinatown’s historic Hawai‘i Theater, debuting on April 6, 2018.
